Teleworking in CNN en Español

Two days ago Adelantos, a show in CNN en Español, featured a report on teleworking.

It's good to see that such an important channel for the Spanish speaking market dedicates some minutes to talk about teleworking. I knew that Chile is already working in some legal proposals to regulate teleworking, that's good news.

Even if teleworking is not considered a viable alternative yet, specially by employers, I think we'll be getting there soon.

The same show presented a report on how several U.S. companies are reviewing their employees' electronic mail. I wonder, how could these employers allow their people to work away from the office when they can't trust them even in the same building?

companies restrictions

I wish my Spanish was better, now I just know the reporter is quite hot;)

Anyway, there are many companies who restrict the Internet usage and I'm trying, but don't get it at all. If you don't motivate your employees, they won't work anyway; if they can't browse the net, they'll do something else - play Solitaire or whatever.
But yes, it's quite easy - make the people come to work so we can see them and forbid them private e-mails or web: and then we're done with management.

And Talking About Solitaire

In one TWIT show I heard about a guy who was fired because the boss noticed him playing solitaire while the Major was visiting their office. The poor guy appeared in the background with the game on his screen while the Major was been inverviewed for a TV show. What a mess!
